Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

My name is Trisha Gumbs, and I am a registered ECE, that has graduated from George Brown College. I’ve been working in the childcare setting for 9 years. I really enjoyed working with preschool children. They have taught me so much about myself. During my experiences, I have gained many skills that will be a great asset to the school setting. I have planned the curriculum, which is developmentally appropriate to the children’s learning that is creative and fun, and completed progress assessments. I’ve planned and supervised children during indoor and outdoor play and field trips, and assist them during transitioning time. I am able to establish great rapport with children, parents and staff and consider myself a team player. During my special need experiences. I’ve worked with children who exhibits behavioural challenges, and autism. These experiences were completed in both school and daycare settings, where I worked one to one interactions with children. By doing this, I was able to implement modify activities and create programs that will sustained the children interest for a time and rewarded them with a prize for participation.
