Early Childhood Educator in Richmond, British Columbia

I have attained my Licence to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator in 2003 and have worked in a preschool setting from January 2003 to June 2016 with the 3-5 age group. Throughout these years, I have gained experiences in play-based, theme-based, Emergent and Reggio Emilia educational approaches. As part of my continuing education, I have received a 26 hours training of “Learning Language and Loving It” offered by the Hanen Program for Early Childhood Educators, a Speech-Language Program presented by Richmond Health Department in 2012. To better understand how the natural environment can be used as the third teacher, I have also had a 10 hours training in 2013 on “Exploring the Natural Environment” presented by South Arm Community Centre. My others skills include: • Language - English and Cantonese • Program planning - age-appropriate curriculum (Theme based and Emergent Curriculum) • Circle time and free play - leading/presenting developmentally appropriate activities • Art - open-ended and child-led activities • Music and movement - activities in singing, finger-plays and movement • Guiding and caring - problem solving and negotiation • Communication - active listening and interaction
