Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

For the past seven years I have dedicated my time and energy to working with children and families through my roles as a preschool program instructor with the City of Edmonton as well as an early learning instructor with a private center. I have also delivered fun and exciting dance and kung fu instruction to children, youth and adults! Below my roles and duties are outlined:\r\n•Acted as an active role model for children ages 12 months to 12 years old.\r\n•Delivered programs that encourage physical literacy and basic movement skills to foster social, cognitive and physical development. \r\n•Instilled motivation and excitement for the “Active for life” concept to promote healthy living and positive lifestyle choices.\r\n•Taught classes in both parented and non-parented environments.\r\n•Accomplished effective programming and planning for children with differing developmental levels and for families with varying cultural backgrounds.\r\n•Programs were taught in a way to ensure inclusivity for all ages and ability levels. \r\n•Maintained necessary documentation for the programs to run safely and effectively\r\n•Provided a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment for children and youth ranging from ages 12 months to 12 years old.\r\n•Encourage the children and youth to ‘learn through play’ to foster social, physical, intellectual and psychological development. \r\n•Developed weekly planning and programming for the children and youth to participate in.\r\n•Provided counseling on developmental and/or behavioral issues that parents brought forth. I have experience teaching children with mild Autism, as well as developmental and sensory disorders.
