Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

Since moving to Calgary from Toronto a year and a half ago, I am currently a Head Basketball Coach with the Calgary Youth Development Center. I have spent the last nine years working directly with children and youth in a variety of different capacities in communities deemed as high-risk. Most recently, I have worked for YMCA Calgary as a Youth Coordinator. Previously, I have worked with two separate Boys and Girls Club and various other community centers, and have also spent time volunteering at two separate YMCA centers. During my many years of experience, I have logged thousands of hours assisting, supervising, and directly working with children and youth ranging in age from 5 – 21. My various responsibilities have been, but are not limited to; supporting those with various educational needs, hiring volunteers, creating and implementing daily nutrition plans, coaching and facilitating recreation based programs, leading skill development workshops, as well as providing a safe, fun, and harmonious environment. Currently, I have my Alberta Child Development certificate - Level 1, Emergency First-aid and CPR C, a diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services, and great knowledge in the implementation of numerous recreational activities with both HIGH FIVE, Physical Literacy, & Fundamental Movement Skill philosophies. I feel that with my passion, personality, and my many years of experience, I would be a valuable asset to your team.
