Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Exceedingly driven, I have obtained over two years of volunteered experience in child care establishments while developing and improving the skills that will help me to thrive as an ECA. As a part-time coop volunteer at a Montessori school I was responsible for the care of a special needs student. Throughout the duration of my time with the student I succeeded in fulfilling tasks such as assisting with lunchtime procedures, putting student down for nap time, preparing the student for outdoor activities, supervising throughout play time, etc. From this experience I was able to further develop my patience skills while learning the different needs and requirements when it comes to communicating and assisting students with special needs. Throughout my time as a co-op volunteer in a kindergarten classroom my duties were very much similar, whereas I was responsible for helping supervise a class of children as opposed to just one child. From this experience I was really able to connect and learn from the children while observing them participate in activities such as loose part, mark making, and dramatic play that I provided to complete assignments. Overall from my time at these organizations I feel that I have gained a very exceptional set of skills that will allow me to be a genuinely reliable staff within any child care company. Prioritized and confident are the character traits that I posses that have got me multiply promotions within my current position as a McDonald's team leader position. For over two years I have grown and improved my management, multitasking, and communication skills at McDonald's while undergoing Shift Management training, training new employees as a Crew Trainer, and simply working as a team member. My current responsibilities consist of assisting managers in supervising the crew, giving out breaks to crew, while maintaining a clean, well stocked and smooth running restaurant. Over the years I have interacted with thousands of guests to make sure I am always able to provide a enjoyable service. From this experience I feel I have earned a valuable collection of customer services skills. Organized and motivated to be successful I am confident that I will be the right fit for an ECA within a childcare facility. I am able to provide fun and nurturing professionalism with children while helping them to succeed in expanding a number of primary skills. With an accepting approach to each unique child I am able to provide the proper care that will encourage and allow each child to grow and learn appropriately. I am currently scheduled to begin the Child Development Practitioner Apprenticeship Program with Seneca College this upcoming January, and look forward to working in a child care organization that will allow me to improve and expand my skills. Please feel free to contact me to discuss my qualifications further or with any questions you may have regarding the apprenticeship program. I can be reached my email at [email protected] or by phone at (647)625.... I very much look forward to hearing from you.
