Through the effective utilization of my skills and experience in child and youth support work along with my MSc degree in Psychology, I am confident that I can be a great asset and fit to this opportunity. All through most of my career, I have worked in the educational sector, I have a passion for providing not only academic and non-academic support but also emotional and mental support by mentoring, counselling and coaching individuals with and without learning disabilities and difficulty learning. Up until recently, I worked as a Behavioural/Developmental - Educational Assistant in various schools where I worked supporting children of various age groups with various learning disabilities and needs by employing strategies provided by therapists, teachers and education coordinators, assisting in implementing and monitoring program plans. I also worked in a youth transition home, though not stated on my resume, where I mentored teenage youth who came from difficult backgrounds and needed supported independent living. I also worked with National Citizen Service in the UK as an Assistant Programme Leader where I mentored, counselled and coached teenagers. I ran various activities, special events and recreation programs as well implemented by the governing body and provided feedback. Before that, I worked in a college for 5 years as a Senior Student Support Officer where I provided administrative support to senior management. I provided academic and non-academic support to higher education students, also getting them involved in after school programs and community engagement activities. Furthermore, other qualities that I possess which may not be readily apparent from my resume include patience, empathy, sensitivity, adaptability and diligence. I know the skills, knowledge and experience I have acquired have provided me with an added advantage to carry out this role successfully which I am more than ready to use to continue and improve the standard which you organization has already begun.
