Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

I am a wife and mother of two children, aged 5 and 8. I worked as a teacher for the Calgary Catholic school board from 1999-200..., until my son was born. I taught special education for grades 1-6 and I also spent a year teaching a full-day kindergarten program. When my first child was born I chose to remain home and I became a stay at home parent and home-maker. I taught elementary special education for five years with the Calgary Catholic school board. I also spent 3 years volunteering with Renfrew Educational Services. I have had experience teaching children with a broad range of educational and behavioural issues, including two years spent teaching a class of 8 students with severe autism. My oldest child is coded gifted and my youngest child will undergo testing once she turns 7. I have experience as both a parent and a teacher with Individual Learning Support Plans. I have worked with teaching assistants, psychologists, SLP\'s, physiotherapists and OT\'s to meet the diverse learning needs of students and my own children.
