Early Childhood Educator in North York, Ontario

I have been working with children for a large portion of my life. I have always had younger cousins that I have cared for, and I started babysitting at the age of 13. I have been teaching and tutoring children at Oxford Learning for five years, teaching children from ages 3-13. I am currently in Teacher's College, and just finished teaching in a grade 1/2 split classroom, and will begin teaching a grade 4/5 split classroom in January. I am very trusted around children, and have a passion for teaching them. I babysat two siblings with Autism, one who is highly severe. It can be very difficult and frustrating at times, but it has helped me develop a lot of patience for children with special needs. Recently, I provided child-care for a family whose son had Aspergers Syndrome. Spending time with this child was very fun and rewarding, and we both learned many things from each other. Once again, I was trusted by both sets of parents to care for these children on my own, and was able to deal with meltdowns. At my workplace, Oxford Learning, I had the pleasure of teaching a young boy with P.D.D. a few days a week during our summer program.
