Early Childhood Educator in Belleville, Ontario

As someone who has worked in a managing role for the Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs from 2013 to present, I have confidence that my experience has enabled me to grow immensely as well as gain a passion for working with children, youth, and families in a safe and caring atmosphere. I am currently completing my degree online through the University of Victoria in the Child and Youth Care program. I know this route is not ideal/traditional learning but for myself I have been able to gain amazing experience in the field while also moving forward in my own education. I have recently moved back to the Ottawa area with willingness to relocate, as I am anxious to continue in a field that helps others excel to their full potential! During my time at the Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs, I have been in charge of overseeing our educational and leadership based programs. A few of my responsibilities have included planning and implementation of new educational programs within our facilities, promoting programs to community support services, training staff members in crisis intervention or strategy and evaluation, as well as managing reports and budgets for our Raising the Grade program for youth ages 13-18. In addition to managing the educational and leadership programs, before attaining this position I was the Recreation Program Area Leader for the Martin Avenue Community Centre where I was responsible for program development that strives to encourage healthy and positive growth for children and youth ages 6-18. As well as leading staff members in recreational activities and in charge of the representation of the Jumpstart foundation within our club. I believe that with my experience and continued education I will be able to bring forward an energetic, driven personality that will aide in building strong relationships with not only the children, youth and families, but with the staff team as well.
