Early Childhood Educator in Vancouver, British Columbia

My most recent work with children has been in an international context as a homeroom Kindergarten teacher at a bilingual school in Thailand. I also worked as an English teacher in South Korea and Taiwan from kindergarten to school-aged children. These experiences were enriching as they provided me with a global perspective and many tools to use when implementing curriculum to children who speak English as an additional language.\r\n\r\n Outside of classroom settings, I have run an Out-of-School Care program with school aged children and was dedicated to ensuring they were exposed to a variety of stimulating activities. Previous to this position, I have worked as a coordinator for several summer camp programs some of which were focused specifically on outreach work to at-risk populations of children. I have also worked in the Early Childhood Education field primarily as a support worker for a child with extra support needs in a traditional preschool setting for approximately one year. Some of my responsibilities were to implement a guidance care plan for the child using different behaviour management techniques as well as daily communication with parents. Inclusion is a strong part of my personal teaching philosophy.
