Early Childhood Educator in Pickering, Ontario

I have a vast amount of experience working with children of the preschool and Kindergarten age. I completed a teaching placement in a full day Kindergarten class at Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School, where I created a positive learning environment for the students to learn through literacy, math and play-based activities. I also worked at a childcare centre with children of the age of 3 years to 6 years, again providing the children with a developmentally appropriate environment that fosters the students’ social, emotional and intellectual growth. In addition, throughout university, I volunteered my time in a Kindergarten class at Pickering Christian School. While volunteering, I assisted the classroom teacher and guided the students in their ongoing work. The experience that I have interacting with children of the preschool and Kindergarten age can be beneficial for this position. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\nI have also volunteered in the elementary school room at McMaster Children’s Hospital, as it is another passion of mine to work with diverse populations. Working with the children and youth who have a variety of health concerns required one to be spontaneous and adaptive as I had to modify activities to fit the needs of individuals. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\nI have also worked with children in the school setting as I have volunteered in a grade 5 and grade 8 class. I have also completed practicums in a grade 2 class and a grade 5 class. I have worked with children who have autism, physical disabilities and serious health concerns.
