Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

Hello! . I am confident in my ability to share my expertise and knowledge with dayhome educators and enrolled families while facilitating meaningful opportunities to operate their dayhomes. My journey as an ECE has been enriching. I have experience in multiple roles in early learning and childcare: consultant for a childcare dayhome agency, Alberta-approved dayhome operator, preschool teacher, and ECE supervisor in an infant room centre. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in childcare licensing and regulation, Flight Framework, Indigenous ways of ELCC practices, and communication skills that build relationships. As a child and youth care learner, I've had the opportunity to participate in psychoeducational and therapeutic sessions, both online and in person. The supervised sessions by instructors at the University of Victoria campus have deepened my understanding of trauma-informed, solution-focused and family-centred approaches. I also added to my learning the use of helping skills in counselling, such as active listening, paraphrasing, being present at the moment, trauma-informed practice, and various therapies, such as strength-based, play-based, and solution-focused therapy.
