Another instance in related in the strategy of "knowing my students rings the bell with my experience in overseas teaching. In my class, there were several students that were given an IEP. The level of the students was comparatively below standard criteria. These students needed remedial help and preferred to learn by games and play. However, not all of the students favoured this approach and showed signs of nagging and discomfort in the classroom. To aim for student success, I shifted their favourite games versus their performance in the classroom which proved quite effectively in terms of discipline work rate and attitude, especially to all of the IEP students. I approached a situation in a special needs primary school setting during which some students were having issues with their classmates in forming groups. One of the students lost her cool and affected the flow of the lesson. In this case, I stopped the lesson for a while and asked other staff member to supervise the kids on my behalf. I brought this kid to the resource room and let her cool down for a few minutes. After cooling down, I did some counselling, and told her to go back to class. Finally, the kid shook hands with the rest of the group, and the lesson resumed to normal
