Early Childhood Educator in Kitchener, Ontario

I have had babysitting experience in the past for some families at my church. I love the idea of shaping the minds of children because they are the future leaders. Throughout my school years I was friends with a girl who had down syndrome. I have been friends with her since I was in grade 2. I never treated her differently than others. I only ever thought of her as my friend. She is still one of my good friends today. Other than that I know to take it slower with special needs kids and be patient with them. They may not understand the first time you explain something and so you might need to explain things in different ways.
