Early Childhood Educator in Kitchener, Ontario

Hello! My name is Victoria Meijer and I am a caring and compassionate ECE worker in the KW area who would like to join your team! Although I do not have my RECE designation (although I am looking to get my certification soon), I have three years' experience within the daycare system with various establishments, and would love to join a kind and dynamic daycare centre in the KW area. Professionally, I have worked as an ECA for two different centres within the last 3 years, as well as volunteered at the University of Waterloo's ECEC, where I also studied and gained a BA in Child Psychology. I also would love to be able to grow my experience with children with special needs, as my education has specifically trained me towards that field. Personally, I am a kind and patient individual who likes to teach through example and lead through mentoring. I follow a "do unto others" policy and back up many of my teachings or disciplinary actions with a reasoning based in empathy. I will always follow a "kindness first" policy when disciplining, giving the child three warnings before firmly but gently removing them from whatever the situation may be. I like to ensure that the child understands why the action was wrong, why they are being removed, and how they may fix the situation, or handle it better next time.
