Early Childhood Educator in North York, Ontario
I'm an
Individual
Very early in life I was aware of my passion for children and Education. When I was in High School (2002) I participated in a Co-op program where I spent half the school day in a grade 3 classroom. My responsibilities not only included collaborating with the teacher in charge to ensure student success, but I to gain experience working with students with a variety of special learning needs. After graduating from the University of Ottawa in 2009 I spent 13 months in South Korea teaching English as a second language to children age 6 . After that rewarding experience I returned to Ontario to complete my Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University (2013). I have had the student teaching experience with kindergarten and the first, second, and fifth grade levels. I interacted with parents and students in a positive and professional manner. Through these experiences I developed the ability to turn instructional methods and practices into goal-driven, high quality results. I have most recently been helping a family care for their 4 month baby and 3 year old toddler at their family business and at their home. I am certified with the Ontario College of Teachers but have a passion for working with, and inspiring children of all ages.
Last spring I completed a course at York University in Special Education. I have worked with some students on the Autistic Spectrum in the past and I displayed patience and sensitivity, but would never fear from presenting the students with new challenges. This is an area I am extremely passionate about, and would love to continue to develop my knowledge on, and ability to work with, children at all levels.
