Early Childhood Educator in Mississauga, Ontario

Since 2003, I have worked as an early childcare assistant. I have cared for children as young as newborn babies to those entering their primary school years. In terms of experience, I have been working in a daycare setting for over 10 years. My responsibilities included daily planning, executing educational activities that both entertained and stimulated the class, and setting up classrooms to promote learning. Additionally, I performed practical daily tasks involved with childcare, including but not limited to serving meals, changing diapers, supervising outdoor playtime, maintaining daily class records, etc. Within the daycare centres where I have worked, we have had several children with special needs integrated into our classes. There has been a special needs teacher from the Region of Peel designated to each child who comes to our classroom weekly to observe and advise us on how to best promote learning and development of social skills with each particular infant/toddler.
