Early Childhood Educator in Ottawa, Ontario

I am writing to apply for the position of “early childhood educator” to your any program, as advertised on childcare advantage. As a registered early childhood educator, I am passionate about working with children. Over the past 2 years, I have gained significant experience in teaching and caring children from my filed placements and supply experience. From the description of this position, I believe that my skills, experience and interest fit very well with this position. My education has prepared me for this position. During my study at Algonquin College, I studied a wide range of courses in child education, including Foundations of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology of Learning, Guiding Children’s Behavior, and Creating an Effective Curriculum. From these courses, I have gained a solid foundation in the knowledge and theories of learning, children’s behavior and development stages. Moreover, through the training in teaching practice, I have acquired valuable teaching techniques for children. In addition to course studies, I have also obtained placement and work experiences at childcare centers in the past a couple of years. In 2015 and 2016, I spent nearly four months on field placement in various organizations and completed the training programs of preschool and toddler education and caring from Assist Level to Master Level. In these field placements, I exposed myself to a wide range of duties, from preparing materials for various activities, creating curriculum plans to supervising children. Moreover, from July to December 2016, I was working as a supply teacher in two organizations, delivering care and teaching for toddlers and preschool children. These experiences allow me to utilize the knowledge acquired from course studies in work practice and have greatly developed my skills essential to work with children such as patience, creativity, communicating with children and parents, instructing difficult concepts to kids in a way they understand, and being empathetic to children’s emotions and parents’ needs. I am hard-working and dedicated. My previous study experience in Business and Marketing has also developed my teamwork spirit and analytical skills. I would enjoy a challenging job in early childhood education. I believe that the experience offered by your centre will help guide me in reaching my professional goals.
