Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

My name is Keely, I am originally from the United States, I received my Bachelor's degree from Indiana University studying the humanities. After college I started as a part time assistant preschool teacher and shortly there after was offered the position of a full time teacher of a classroom with children between the ages of three and five. My duties included weekly lesson planning, parent teacher meetings, weekly progress reports, planning dynamic and engaging classroom outings, and the day to day educational of the students in my class. One year and a half after working with the Preschool I became a Peace Corps volunteer living in a rural town in Guatemala. My main role in the Peace Corps was to act as a link between the ministries of Education and Health, ensuring clear channels of communication and the implementation of Health topics into the National curriculum. This task required working with a multitude of diverse people and work styles, as I worked with groups from grassroots, community levels up to statewide and national levels. In my time I also managed several secondary projects focusing on a variance of topics from strengthening knowledge on teaching children with diverse learning styles and needs to gender equitable practices. I am currently looking for a job that will allow me to use the vast amount of tools that I have gained in my job experiences, from community development and team building to hands on education. I am bilingual in English and Spanish
