Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

I am currently working as a Occasional Educational Assistant with the York Region Distract School Board. As a educational assistant I help students with varying degree of learning disabilities. I help students with class activities and working towards goals that the has been set out for them by their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). I also help students who have difficulty with social interaction and teach them how to interact with the people around them. In addition, I have learned to be flexible and supportive while working with students. I believe my experience working as an Educational Assistant will allow me to excel in this job. \\r\\n I was employed by a non-profit organization, Heritage Skills Development Center in which I was active in coaching and mentoring at-risk youth. As an afterschool specialist, I not only helped the youth with homework, but also helped develop activities that they could use to express themselves. In addition to assisting the youth, I also counselled parents who were having a hard time understanding their children’s behaviour. Same as above, I am an occasional educational assistant. All of my experience is with childrens with special need
