Early Childhood Educator in Orleans, Ontario

As a childcare provider Early Childhood Educator, my priority is to ensure that the children in my care come first and to ensure their health and safety as well as their development progress. My primary goal is to make sure that the children are safe and that they are part of a creative, supportive, and nurturing environment that supports the optimal development of the whole child when it comes to their emotional, physical, social and emotional development, as well as cognitive. I make it a priority to make sure that I develop partnerships with parents/family members. I believe that it is of upmost importance for the children's development to have these strong relationships and to be able to work together as a team. I offer flexibility in meeting the children's needs as well as making sure I work around families' schedules. I also offer a warm and nurturing home setting. My activities are age appropriate for the age groups that are in my care and that all the children can participate. I make sure that my activities are safe for the children and based on their learning developmental stages and that encourages children to learn through hands-on experiences. I promote play based learning and base my activities on the ELECT program, A Framework for Ontario Early Childhood Settings. Professionalism and respect are two component required to ensure a quality home daycare. I believe that being professional is of upmost importance for both the families and children alike to be able to build relationships. I have a high respect for the children in my care, and their needs as well as their families and their concerns. I work with the children and their families to make sure that the children are happy and developing as they should in all of the areas. I provide an inclusive program. I accept all of the children as they are and I love to work with them in order to build their self-esteem. I always encourage the children in whatever they are doing, whether it be zipping up their jacket or trying to write their name of just simply trying to say words. I encourage decision making skills with the children. I believe that making decisions is so very important in life and that the children will have to make many decisions in their lives so I believe that it has to start at an early age. I take the responsibility for the upbringing and development of children as I "strongly" believe in them and want our children to grow up feeling safe and successful in life. I strongly believe that this philosophy is the foundation for the children in my care as well as their learning. I believe that I provide a happy and safe home daycare setting.
