Early childhood educator Job in Toronto, Ontario

We are a non-profit childcare Centre in the North Toronto area. We provide quality early learning and care for children from 0 months to 4 years of age.
UYVDC is seeking an Assistant Teacher ECA with an experience in a Daycare environment and Early Childhood Assistant CERTIFICATE Applicants must hold an ECA qualification, valid CPR and First Aid certification.

ECA Certification
Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children, parents and co-workers
Team player, great work ethic
Creative, take initiative, plans ahead
Can handle stressful situations as they arise
First Aid, CPR and current Criminal Record Check

Description Knowledge of Early Childhood Development
Knowledge of the ELECT is an asset
Maintain and Record daily observations of children in program
Respects individual abilities and developmental levels of children in program
Ensure the philosophy and policies of the centre are upheld and implemented
Liaise with parents on an ongoing basis, regarding progress of child development and areas of concern/conflict
Staff will be required to attend meetings and training during the day.

Required:
Must undergo a Police Record Check with the vulnerable sector screen
• Ability to work occasionally full-time.
• Experience working with children in an emergent environment
• A strong work ethic
• Understanding of all legislation and standards, including The Childcare and Early Years Act and Children’s Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement
• Ability to be flexible, to show initiative and work independently adhering to Centre policies
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
• English communication skills both verbal and written including grammar are necessary
• Sensitivity to the needs of diverse communities and ability to speak another language is an asset
• Food Handler certificate is an assets
