As a 2014 graduate of Humber College, I have teaching experience with children between the ages of 0 month to 12 years. As a registered Early Childhood Educator, I would like to be given the opportunity to pursue my teaching career and develop my teaching skills while creating a challenging and fun learning environment for my students. The reasons that qualify me for this position is the fact that during my last semester placement at a Catholic school I encountered a wonderful experience working with children with identified behavioral difficulties. At this placement it was encouraged to shadow the children, learn their interests and find ways to motivate them. I was also trained to learn new ways of captivating their attention and help manage their stress levels when it came to their different levels of learning. In light of this experience, it allowed me to become a more understanding individual who recognizes and identifies the distinctiveness of each child. Furthermore, throughout my two years of being an undergrad my strengths and weaknesses have been identified to improve on furthering my personal growth within this field. My strengths include having strong communication skills, active listening skills and being an active team member. I strive to work within a team and community environment in order to help enhance the children’s experience and meet their needs. It is my goal to be a positive contribution to your team of educators and to work collaboratively with co-workers, students and families.
