Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

The Position: Title: Early Childhood Educator Job Type: Full-Time, permanent Commences: Immediately Catholic Family Service is seeking a passionate individual to be responsible for ensuring that child care program objectives meet the personal, social and developmental needs of children and their parents. This individual reports to the Supervisor of the Learning Centre of Catholic Family Service at Louise Dean Centre. This position requires a self-starter, mature and energetic individual to create and implement programs that focus on the unique needs of young children, six weeks to three years of age. Responsibilities:  Provide primary care to children in a group setting;  Assisting the team lead and the coordinator in focusing programs to the needs of individual children, with concern for the children’s interests, individual styles and pace of learning;  The smooth coordination of all playroom activities and staff/student relationships;  Developing, implementing and providing activities for children and adolescent parents, in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the program;  Leading by example and through interaction, parenting skills including behavioral management skills, communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills;  Presenting workshops for parents on child development issues and integrating this information to program planning and delivery;  Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children;  Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth. Qualifications Required:  Minimum ECE Level 3; Child Development Supervisor;  Two Years’ experience in child care setting;  Strong team work; willingness to learn; effective time management and organizational skills;  Creativity and flexibility;  Knowledge of FLIGHT Curriculum Framework;  The Core Brain Story Certification through The Alberta Family Wellness Initiative is an asset.
