To whom it may concern, My name is Wahida Zaman and I am a RECE and OCT certified educator. I am confident my experience in childcare. I have had the privilege of collaborating with many teachers from practicum experience, and daycare jobs. I have a passionate dedication to students, and a love for teaching that will make me an ideal candidate in your center. As an educator, it is my responsibility to inspire and create a welcoming culture for students and staff and their well-being. The type of environment I ensure to maintain in my classroom is one that highlights student voice and enriches their minds through culturally relevant inclusive practices. My goal is to help students understand themselves, have a strong of sense of belonging and build knowledge and skills to develop a meaningful learning experience where students can inquire and investigate the world beyond their immediate environment. In doing so, I will guide them to ask questions and provide plenty opportunity to find answers that encourages their inquiries about the world. I am committed to providing a learning experience that allows students to go above and beyond and expand on their capabilities. Moreover, I am dedicated to teaching with an exploratory lens, where students will see themselves reflected in the curriculum and lesson plans, as they can make connections to their environment and the world. I believe my values support the mission of providing a equitable educational experience. I believe education must highlight the ability for students to, “reach high levels of achievement and to acquire the knowledge, skills, and values they need to become responsible members of a democratic society.” I have currently graduated the Bachelor of Education: Consecutive Program at York University. I have experience as a Teacher Candidate at Chester Elementary, Spruce Court Public School and lastly Huron Jr Sr Public School. With the support of my Associate Teachers, I had the opportunity to collaborate and lead lessons, observe and inquire about routines and assessment, while forming a professional relationship with students, community staff members and families. In addition to my teaching experience, I have graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education Program from Ryerson University. I had placements in 4 various TDSB schools and primary settings as part of my Early Childhood Studies program. I immediately obtained a position as the lead RECE for two years at EYET and Muppets Child Care. I am looking forward to working in an educational setting that offers an encouraging environment for staff, students and families, where learning is a priority. In knowing this and with my experience over the years, I would make a positive impact as part of the teaching team.
