Early Childhood Educator in Markham, Ontario

Attended Seneca College and completed the 2 year Early Childhood Education Diploma program in Dec 2012, my convocation ceremony is in June 2013. I have over 15 years of experience working with children in a number of fields, five years summer camp both junior and senior councillor, afterschool programs, working with Torornto Parks and Recreation in North York working in different positions like teaching Tiny Tots, Arts and Crafts programs, Sat drop in programs and Parent and Tot programs. Currently most of my experience is working in daycare settings, as a RECE teacher. In the past I worked for 8 years as ECA teacher in daycare. As well I completed five placements through Seneca College in the ECE program (five, old curriculum), with various age groups such as Preschool, School-age, Toddlers and Children with exceptionalities. In addition I have also volunteered at H.R.R.Hospital on Pediatrics' working with sick children for two years. I have worked as a full time nanny for two families in Toronto with a children of various ages, Infant to Preschool. I have over 14 years of experience working with children including my summer camp experience and have good references as well. I have worked as a lead RECE in both Senior and Junior School age rooms, as well as working with my preferred age group Preschool. I have a lot of experience with programing, and I am very comfortable with doing so. I have done theme based programing as well as emergent curriculum, which is primarily based on the children's interests and through daily observations using the Elect. In my last College placement (Children with exceptionalities) I had the opportunity to work with a child who was Autistic for a period of 4 months. But it was in a class setting and other teachers were there to assist me. As an RECE, most recently I had the opportunity to work with more children with autism, including children who were non verbal.
