Early Childhood Educator in Hamilton, Ontario

Hello! My name is Kyla Henderson and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I received my diploma from Mohawk College and just recently received my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Honours Degree from Brock University. Throughout my education and experiences with children from various age groups and diverse families, I have found a passion for helping children grow and develop the skills that they need in life. I have learned how to assists families with their children's education and have developed the skills to increase communication and promote positive relationships with all families. I have worked to gain strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents. I believe that all children should be treated equally and believe that as an educator, it is my responsibility to advocate for them. I have worked with children from ages 1-12 throughout different environments, such as daycares, after school programs, kindergarten classrooms, summer camps etc. Throughout these experiences, I have worked alongside other staff and have learned to enjoy working as a team and enjoy working in a a team environment. I have also had the opportunity to not only learn about different disabilities but be able to work with children who have disabilities and learn to provide an environment that is inclusive. I have some experience working with children with autism, cerebral palsy, and different developmental delays and am willing to expand my experiences. Through my experience of planning and implementing programs, I have also developed the skills to make alterations to assists children with different disabilities. I have a current Criminal Check & Vulnerable Sector Search, A CPR/ First Aid certification as well as up to date Immunizations.
