Early Childhood Educator in Brampton, Ontario

Dear Hiring Manager, I am a passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator looking to become part of a great team. I am knowledgeable of the Early Years and Child Care Act, How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for Early Years, and Every Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT). Before applying to Sheridan College, I volunteered in family-oriented programs provided by the Mississauga Parent-Child Resource Centre OEYC and the Child Development Resource Connection Peel OEYC to learn more about the field of early childhood education. When I found myself enjoying the environment and my role as co-learner with the children, I got a certificate in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C and applied for the Intensive Program. I graduated with High Honours and a 4.0 GPA in my program. I enjoyed my first field placement in the toddler room and my second placement in a Full-Day Kindergarten classroom. Both require different strategies when interacting with the children but offer new and challenging experiences. Now I’m looking for an opportunity to further develop my skills and apply the knowledge I have learned from my classes, field placements and volunteer experiences.
