Early Childhood Educator in Vancouver, British Columbia

I am an individual who has devoted the last 8 years of my life towards a career in education. I have been volunteering in both different classrooms and grades since 2008 and am extremely passionate about working with children and youth. Over the years due to my experience, I have had ample opportunity to understand the necessity of effective behavioral management, as well as creating genuine relationships which promote a positive learning environment. My passion for education encouraged me to attain a Bachelor of Education Degree where I was able to teach students ages 5-12. Last summer I was employed under the ESL camp in Burnaby British Columbia. This camp allowed me to grow further as an educator as I was able to instruct those between the ages of 7-17. This camp allowed me to incorporate my personal teaching philosophy- the Reggio Emilia Approach which is firmly grounded in the belief of outdoor education. I believe the environment to be a detrimental aspect to children learning, as well the inclusion of kinesthetic activities. Throughout my life I have played competitive soccer and cross-country, winning two provincial titles in both sports in 2009 and 2011. I am applying to work for BC AdventureSmart because I believe I can be an asset to your team. I am specifically applying for the Burnaby, British Columbia location. I have been recently certified for First Aid, CPR and High-Five. I am a highly extraverted individual who thrives in challenging situations and recognizes the value of teamwork.
