Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

For six years I have been at the forefront of education development in the UK, USA, and Spain. My master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Language Arts, allowed me to study in more detail how children learn and develop through various teaching methods and styles. I am trained in techniques that ensure children reach their full potential as learners through purposeful and cross-curricular lessons. The International Primary School curriculum, which I used whilst teaching in England, offers exemplary planning and resources that put the emphasis on student-centred and inquiry-based learning. I set projects that appeal to the children; scientific enquiry is encouraged through research and ‘What if?' questions, art and sculpture, image writing prompts, to name a few. I enjoy being inventive, producing interactive and engaging work environments through displays, areas, and resources and developing creativity and imagination through practical lessons catered to students who are kinaesthetic, audio or visual learners. A multitude of learning objectives can be achieved through this method of teaching. My goal is to educate children for the future, for life outside of the classroom. Child development is important and so many skills can be acquired during those school years. Excellent teaching opens doors and opportunities for the students to further their education in some of the leading educational establishments across the globe. Children need to encourage their aspirations and skills should be nurtured; the next breakthrough scientist, surgeon or leader of the Department of Education could be sat in my classroom and as a passionate educator, I play a major role in that child's future. Everything I do in my career is to better the life and prospects of my students.
