Calgary Child’s Play invests heavily in the team to ensure that we recruit and retain the best possible people.

Lead and support children’s indoor and outdoor free play with Calgary Child’s Play Before and After School Programs. Programs are multidisciplinary, where science, art, cooking, gardening, ecology and play combine to create unique and memorable experiences for school age children.
Calgary Child’s Play is playwork inspired and believes children’s play must be freely chosen and personally driven.
We work directly with school age children, fellow educator/playworkers, and school staff. We have a variety of split shift manager and playworker positions available.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support children in multi-disciplinary activities
Support child-led free play in accordance with the Playwork Principles
Prepare activities and activity supplies
Assist children in daily life activities and transitions
Provide for the supervision and safety of the children
Participate in staff training and daily/weekly reflections
Qualifications:
Alberta Child Care Certificate CDW or CDS
Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector
First aid/CPR certification
Comfort with working outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow and heat
Desire to mentor and support young children as unique individuals, meeting them where they are developmentally
Willingness to attend workshops and courses to increase knowledge and stay current in your practice
Strong communication skills
Sensitivity and understanding towards the diverse individual and cultural needs of families
Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
