Early Childhood Educator in Markham, Ontario

Hello, my name is Tiffany. I graduated as an Early Childhood Educator at George Brown College. I am currently looking for a full-time position and I am available to start immediately. I have lots of experience in working with children in all age from infants to school-age in traditional, Montessori, and summer camp setting. When I worked at the daycares, I have skills in teamwork, leadership, time management, creativity, planning and organization, and communication. As a team, I believe that it is important to work with your colleagues because you will be communicating a lot regarding the program planning and the children's development. I like to take initiative in leading the planned activities while others are busy doing something else as it is not good to delay the schedule. I also help others with their tasks when I finish with my own tasks. I took initiative in leading the staff in the room for Staff Week (what they need to do, when is their break/lunch, etc.). I have communication skills because when I was working in the daycare, I always communicate with the parents by greeting them in the morning and evening, telling about their children's day (what they did, meal time, sleep time, etc.). I have also written a newsletter about the song of the month, the story of the month, upcoming events, etc. for the parents to know about. I have planned the field trip and special guest day for both of the children and the parents. Communicating with the staff is also important. I communicated with the staff about the activities I planned, children's development (physical, social, etc.) and events. In addition, I have been in Scouts since I was 4 years old and since then, I grew up learning teamwork and leadership until now. Now I am one of the leaders that lead the children to acquire life skills. Around the age of 15 to 19, I have worked with my Scouts team in planning our own agenda for every once a week, planning fundraising, activities for younger children (movie night, game day, etc.), and planning meal plan, activities, campfire skits for 3 -day camps. As for leadership, I take turns with other members in becoming a leader to lead the meeting. I have also taught younger children to do food drills and do activities (pioneering, crafts, games, etc.) with them.
