Early Childhood Educator Job in Etobicoke, Ontario

Learning Garden Childcare has been established in the south Etobicoke community since 1999. We are located south of Islington and Bloor in a large, bright, and clean facility that provides a caring and stimulating space for children to grow. We provide quality child care for children aged 18 months to 6 years old. We are seeking a full-time Registered Early Childhood Educator / RECE to begin immediately. This position is for a contract position that has the potential of moving to FT if we meet the right candidate. RECE Responsibilities: -Maintaining ratio at all times -Being prepared for Learning Circles that reflect weekly learning topics -Regular communication with parents (face to face interactions, calling when child is sick / there is an emergency, etc.) -Setting up tables with activities planned -Preparing Creative Arts activities weekly -Helping with washroom duties -Signing kids in and out on attendance and keeping an accurate count at all times -Regular head counts and sign offs on attendance sheet -Weekly observations and activities for each child -Weekly programming for group activities reflecting weekly topic -Accident reports, medication forms and Illness forms -Cleaning areas as noted on cleaning sheets and keeping a clean and sanitary room -Updating birthday boards and display boards in the room -Daily written log -Staying with children until parents arrive – reading, playing, etc. -Following all LGC policies and procedures -Following all COVID policies implemented Skills and Qualifications: - Registered with the College of ECE - Current certificate in Standard First Aid and Infant/Child CPR (Level C) - Current Criminal Reference Check (vulnerable sector) is required - Responsive, reliable and caring - Follows direction well - Excellent communication skills with staff and child family members - Team player that fits with our environment Starting Date: September or October 2021 Salary will be commensurate with experience.
