Experienced Registered Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Assistants Established in 1974, the Church St. School Child Care Centre is a non-profit Centre located in Church Street Public School at the south-east corner of Church and Alexander Streets. We offer high-quality early learning and care to children 18 months to 12 years of age. We are looking for committed, energetic and enthusiastic Registered Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Assistants to join our team at this very exciting time. Vacancies: 1 Full Time (SPLIT SHIFT) Maternity Leave Position ~ Kindergarten (23.5 hours per week) 3 ON CALL Supply RECE & NON-RECE various age groups Position Start Date: Kindergarten Maternity Leave March 6, 2017 March 16, 2018 Supply ~ Various Responsibilities: Through an Emergent Curriculum model, and in-line with the principles of ELECT, the incumbent will work with the team of Educators and Assistants to plan and implement a stimulating and developmentally appropriate program in a safe and caring environment. Under the direction of the Program Director of CSSCC, the incumbent will be expected to work in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act, 2014, the City of Toronto Operating Criteria, Public Health regulations, and the CSSCC Policies and Procedures. Qualifications: -Early Childhood Education Diploma/Degree (FOR RECE ONLY) -Member in good standing of the College of Early Child Educators (FOR RECE ONLY) -Able to work split-shifts and/or half-day shifts if needed -Able to work up to 7 hours per day -Work experience in a licensed child care environment required -Working knowledge of Child Care Early Years Act, 2014, City of Toronto Operating Criteria, and ELECT required -Experience planning within an Emergent Curriculum model required -Must have a valid Standard First Aid/CPR C Certificate -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Fluent in English, spoken and written -Demonstrates strong leadership skills, with the ability to support new employees, student teachers, and volunteers -Able to collaborate and communicate openly with team members, colleagues, and families -Demonstrate initiative and flexibility, with the ability to adapt quickly to situations in a dynamic work environment -Be receptive to new ideas and adjust to change as necessary How to Apply: Send cover letter and resume to Chantal Reed, Program Director By email at [email protected] Quote reference RECE -03-2017 in the subject line.
