ABOUT THE WORKAROUND The Workaround is an on-demand childcare space and co-working for the parents. We are located at 2080 Danforth Avenue steps away from the Woodbine TTC Subway Station. We prioritize flexibility, ease and inclusivity. We focus on an emergent learning curriculum that complements mixed age groups from infants aged six months all the way up to preschoolers four and five years old. INITIAL SALARY $20-$24/hr 4% vacation pay HOURS This full-time position is available as soon as possible with a full-time contract following a successful three month probation. Childcare is available Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. BENEFITS Free 24/7 access to the space, including for private events when available. Includes a paid day off for your birthday. Any staff who need to take time off due to COVID-19 symptoms or potential exposure will be paid for those days off. POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). You will be part of our education team at The Workaround. Your role is to delight children with a range of activities, crafts, reading, songs and emergent learning style free play. You will also assist with diapering needs and washroom breaks, snack time and parent drop-off and pick-up. COVID SAFETY Due to increased responsibilities with COVID-19 precautions, all educator staff will be expected to regularly clean and sanitize childcare and maintain a safe childcare environment. Masks and gloves will be provided by The Workaround, and paid time off when you’re feeling unwell is not just greatly encouraged, but mandatory. All childcare staff are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or must take a rapid test regularly in lieu of vaccination. The childcare room is accessible. To be a great fit for this position, you are: ~ A graduate or expected to graduate shortly with Early Childhood Education diploma or A.E.C.E.O. equivalent program. Current membership with the College of ECEs (CECE) ~ Familiar with various childcare settings and have worked in a caregiver capacity for at least one year. ~ Experienced with play based learning early childhood education philosophies ~ Experienced and enthusiastic about building ECE curriculum with a diversity and inclusion lens ~ Basic level of computer skills (for use of our door management and check-in app) ~ Valid certification in Standard First Aid, including Infant and Child CPR ~ Vulnerable sector check complete (reimbursable by The Workaround)
