Assistant Director Wanted: Are you searching for a change? Want to work somewhere where everyday is a new challenge? At Huntington Hills Community Association we are looking for an Assistant Director. What we offer: - Competitive wages - Accreditation Top up - Room for growth - Benefits package after 3 months of work - Friendly and co-operative staff team Duties and responsibilities: - Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the policies and procedures of the program - Assisting in the Accreditation process - Be available at all scheduled times - Answers the phone, and email; taking accurate messages, and responding if possible - Print and file child and staff attendance records - Create and adjust schedules with consideration to programming time, special events and daily staffing needs based on illness, absence and tardiness - Support ratio as needed - Supply shopping - Complete monthly binder reviews - Booking and arranging of field trips and guest programming - Observe staff performance and assist in evaluations - Give and record any verbal or written warnings for employees as needed - Communicate with licensing and health and safety during inspections - Collecting and Recording monthly fees - Receipt entry, expense tracking, and budget reconciliations - Check and sign any incident/accident forms - Addressing any parent concerns or questions and following up after communicating concerns to the director - Contacting parents/guardians regarding children (sick, incident, clothing, etc.) if necessary - Contacting the next level of authority in the event of any serious incidents or problems - Planning and implementing regular safety drills - Communications and orientations for tours, new starts, and transition schedules - Ensuring child registrations and screenings are completed and updated - Supporting the enhancement of staff, rooms and centre philosophy - Reporting any abuse or unsafe practices. - Caring for children in emergency response situations in a calm and collected manner. - someone with a strong ability to coach staff - strong administrative duties. Job requirements: 1. At least 2 years experience as an Assistant 2. Holds a CDA, CDW or CDS 3. Alberta Food Safe certification 4. First Aid and CPR certificates 5. Security clearance with vulnerable sector search 6. Valid class 4 drivers license and willingness to drive the program bus (willingness to obtain bus licence) The Assistant Director is someone who is knowledgeable, strong and a leader to all that come into the program.
