Our Before and After School Program is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator to oversee our middle school site. Applicant must have at least two years experience with 6-12-year old’s and some supervisory experience. Experience with older school age children is an asset. Applicant must be able to work a daily split shift between the hours of 7:00 -9:30 a.m. and from 1:30-6:00 p.m. (35 hours per week ) The position will commence on May 27, 2019 Responsibilities: -Develop a curriculum based on the foundations for learning, as stated in "How Does Learning Happen" -Ability to plan a daily program for small and large groups of school-age children that meet the needs of individual learning styles, strengths and abilities -Develop an inclusive and developmentally appropriate curriculum that reflects culturally responsive approaches and an anti-bias program -Ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum -Ability to establish goals, reflect on practices and complete written observations -Communicating with parents, team teachers and school employees -Ability to maintain a clean, safe and organized classroom -Preparing snacks and setting up physical play space daily -Ability to guide and support children's individual needs and behaviours -Administrative duties as assigned by the Director -Familiar with the requirements of City of Toronto Children’s Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement -Shopping, collecting fees, maintaining accurate records, monitoring compliance Qualifications:, ECE Diploma (registered with the College of ECE) and have two years experience working with school-age children. Supervisory and administrative experience Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance (recent in past six months) Valid Standard First Aid (level C) and Infant/Child CPR Certificate Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act Ability to work in a team environment and independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work a split shift Monday to Friday 7-9:30 am and 1:30-6 pm and full-days on P.A.
