Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Director pertain to the daily operation of the TTELC and include, but are not limited to, the following: ● Maintain a safe and positive work environment for children and staff. ● Ensure that programs and services meet the TTS Board approval and childcare licensing policies and guidelines, as required. ● Collaborate effectively with lead educator and educators, preparing program delivery, procedures, and policies. ● Investigate adverse incidents effectively. ● Ensure that staffing levels and scheduling requirements are met daily. ● Responsible for scheduling staff within the ELS, including vacation and leave arrangements. ● Leading staff meetings and managing morale-building programs for staff. ● Conduct performance reviews for all staff and direct reports. ● Build and maintain secure electronic files for all children and staff ● Prepare documentation and reports as needed. ● Maintain the highest level of compliance with all governing bodies. ● Responsible for leading emergency preparedness drills as required by law. ● Ensure that the TTELC is operated within the annual budget. ● Deliver operational and financial reports to the TTS Board as needed. ● Engage effectively with stakeholders, including the board of the Talmud Torah Society. ● Conducts research, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services. Requirements ● Level 3 early childhood educator. ● Possess the ability to respond calmly to stressful situations, be proactive, and resolve conflicts. ● Able to demonstrate the ability to manage a busy, high-quality program. ● Ability to work with an accountant to build, interpret, manage, and balance a budget. ● Able to create strong working relationships with others, both inside and outside the center. ● Strong communication skills. ● Proven competency with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). ● A minimum of three years’ experience as a Director or Assistant Director is an asset. ● Experience working with children 1 - 12 years of age an asset.
