SimplySmart is looking to hire an energetic individual with a positive attitude to work as a Site Director at its Mississauga location and to also contribute as a solid individual to the growth of the company. We offer a Montessori program along with a regular program so parents can choose a program for their child. The individual should have knowledge of both the programs. SimplySmart is an institution focused on creating a solid foundation for children to build on. Our mantra is to help children in all areas of physical, social, and emotional development. Our curriculum is designed to foster a love of learning and the ability to ask questions, seek out answers and build self-confidence. Our Teachers interact, observe and discover what the children are interested in, then plan activities to expand your child’s learning opportunities. Individuals with experience working in multi-site childcare will be given preference. The Site Director will be managing operations and growth of the new site and experience in launching new sites is optimal. Qualifications: -Degree in Bachelor of Education or Ontario Diploma in Early childhood education or equivalency -Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience -Early childhood Administration & Supervisor program an asset. -Experience working in a multi-site environment an asset. -First aid and CPR Requirements: -Commitment to SimplySmart -Ability to manage a large staff of teachers, support staff, and others employed at the center. -Excellent leadership qualities -Ability to serve on various committees and boards as required -Ability and willingness to attend events, seminars, and meetings as required. -Support and participate in fundraising events and all other events -Ability to manage relationships with parents on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the policies of SimplySmart. Responsibilities -Responsible for ensuring that all legislative requirements are met -Child Care & Early Years Act -Health department -Fire Department -Municipal by-laws -Occupational health & safety Act -Labor relations/Employment standards -Privacy laws -Responsible for providing up-to-date lists & requirements for supplies/equipment etc. on a monthly basis -Responsible for ongoing maintenance of staff -Responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism -Ensure all staff performance reviews are completed on time -Provide ongoing constructive feedback -Provide support and guidance to staff -Co-ordinate supply staff & develop daily staff schedule & lunch schedule -Plan & implement regular staff meetings & assist staff in duties when necessary -Ensure staffing requirements are met at all times (holidays, sickness, etc.) -Maintaining enrollment, updating centre projections bi-weekly -On-going communication with all the families -Maintain records of admission, withdrawal, vacation credit, waiting lists, and any other pertinent items in the children’s files -Represent SimplySmart to prospective parents, teachers, and the community -Host any events necessary for the families & children (like open houses, Birthday Barbeque, Winter concerts, etc.) -Meeting families’ needs -Have ongoing interaction and communication with the families -Prepare newsletters & bulletins -Offer tours of the site -Implement parent-teacher meetings -Address parent concerns -Ensure policies are being followed by the parents -Positive community relations -Attend meetings off-site -Network with community agencies -Access the changing needs of the community -Administrative duties -Manage Payroll and Fee submissions -Delegate tasks & responsibilities as and when required -Ensure classroom administration -Ensure SimplySmart philosophy is reflected in the daily program -Organize field trips & workshops -Seek advice from other management staff NOTE: The above description reflects the general duties and responsibilities and is not to be considered a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be needed for the position.
