Kidz Club is a licensed out of school care program offering before and after school care at three school locations in Sylvan Lake, AB. OLR Kidz Club is seeking an energetic, passionate Early Childhood Educator for the Supervisor position. The supervisor is responsible for the care and supervision of children from 4.5 to12 years old and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program. Kidz Club is also seeking child caregivers casual and 30 hours per week. We thank all those who have applied. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Children, Family, and Community Responsibilities a. Develops and implements a philosophy of child-centered quality childcare; Maintains a child-friendly learning environment that is respectful of children’s strengths and needs, to protect and respect the rights of children. b. Plans and implements enriched programs in accordance with emergent curriculum, developmentally appropriate practices, and the program philosophy. c. Ensures the emotional, social, physical, creative, spiritual, and intellectual needs of each child in the program is met. d. Creates and supports a family friendly environment, supporting a culture of respect for all families; Promotes family involvement e. Completes orientations with new families and children to the program; Ensures the child enrollment process is complete Staff Support and Program Administration a. Supports and supervises staff; Mentors and provides regular and ongoing feedback to staff. b. Works with the team to provide excellent supervision and interactions with both children and staff; Role models both appropriate strategies and behaviours; Promotes open communication and works cooperatively and effectively as a team member. c. Completes administrative tasks (i.e. entries in the communication book, observation log, behavioural reports, etc.); Ensures all program documents/forms are organized and available to staff. d. Meal plans in accordance with the Canada Food Guide; Creates menu and document all changes; Ensures any special dietary requirements are met. e. Creates a monthly newsletter for parents; maintains regular and consistent communication with families. Facility Support a. Prepares and maintains the indoor and outdoor play areas for children’s use; Organizes indoor space to meet the diverse needs and number of children in the program to accommodate quiet, messy, group/individual, planned, and spontaneous activities. b. Ensures a safe and healthy environment at all Kidz Club program locations; Understands emergency procedures and responds to emergencies; Leads health practices, including ensuring safe food handling/safety practices are followed; Completes and documents monthly fire drills; Ensures facilities comply with licensing, fire safety/zoning, and public health requirements. 30-35 hours/week. Split Shifts, from 7:00am-10:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm on school days (no Statutory holidays). Kidz Club offers full days of care on PD days and school holidays, shifts are approximately 6 to 8 hours long, scheduled between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm. 1. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience 2. Early Childhood certification (Early Childhood Educator level 2 or 3, preferred) 3. Current First Aid and CPR 4. Food Handling Safety course (completed within 3 months of employment commencing and every three years thereafter). 5. Current criminal record check with vulnerable sections completed (dated within 6 months of employment commencing) 6. Current child intervention record check (to be completed within 6 weeks of employment commencing).
