Early Childhood Educator Job in Maple, Ontario

Job Description Reporting to the Supervisor and or Director, the lead RECE will be responsible for teaching in an assigned classroom through the Ministry of Education and Public Health requirements. Duties Include: Teaching and managing the assigned classroom through positive and engaging activities Maintain documentation, reporting and record keeping Reviewing and implementing programming to ensure that the centre meets all the requirements of licensing from the Ministry of Education including academic and operational requirements Programming must be child directed, and teacher supported Support children within the classrooms emotional, physical, or behavioral problems and help develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills Maintain attendance, and health and safety checks Work with outside agency professionals such as speech therapists and early interventionists if necessary Support children through transitions in and out of the classrooms Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in CCEYA Participate and interact in team meetings and workshops Specifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with children, parents, and coworkers. Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail Strong collaborator and team player Ability to take initiative in and out of the classroom Strong problem-solving skills Skills and Qualification The ideal candidate must have a joyful personality, be dependable, be committed and must be competent in caring for children and sharing these skills. The ideal candidate must have a solid command of child development, programming for appropriate age groups and knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen?pedagogical guideline. Excellent knowledge and embrace of the Reggio approach is also required. Early Childhood Education Diploma Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and is in good standing An up-to-date Standard Fist Aid & current CPR (Level C) Up to date medical checklist that meets Ministry requirements. Recent (completed within the last 6 months) and clean Vulnerable Sector Check Ability to lift children up to the age of 4 Pay GCC offers a very competitive pay and two weeks vacation, sick days and paid personal days.
