Topcliff Community Childcare is a non-profit childcare centre governed by a Board of Directors located in the Jane and Finch community and licensed for 72 children ages 2.5-10yrs of age. We are currently looking to hire two individuals to join our very dedicated, high quality program. We are looking for strong, experienced RECE's to join our team with a minimum of 3 years working experience with schoolage/Kindergarten children in a licenced childcare setting. Individuals must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, be a leader, take initiative and effectively work with schoolage/kindergarten children. We look forward to meeting you! QUALIFICATIONS • Early Childhood Education diploma from a recognized community college preferred but not required • Be a member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators and abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practices of the College. Keep current with new programs and developments by the college (for RECE) • Minimum 3 years working experience in a licensed childcare center with schoolage children • Must be a sensitive, friendly and mature individual who is able to relate well to children, parents and staff • Must hold a valid standard first aid and CPR level C certificate • Provide a clear Police Reference Check - including vulnerable sector • Provide a clear medical record- TPH immunization paper work required • Provide a copy of completion of the Worker Health and Safety awareness on-line training • Provide a copy of completion of the on-line Human Rights 101 training • Provide a copy of completion of the on-line AODA training • Able and willing to work flexible hours between 7am-6pm • Knowledge of ELECT programing and documentation • Knowledge of Toronto Children’s Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement • Able to function in fast paced environment and keep up with the flow of the room • Excellent English language communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to be flexible, to show initiative and work independently adhering to the childcare policies and procedures • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on team work • Demonstrated ability to work with families of complex situations and from a variety of cultures, differing family values and beliefs • Demonstrated strong leadership skills- ability to take initiative, assess and respond to situations in a positive, effective and timely manner, and work independently requiring minimal supervision and/or direction • Experience and willingness to work with children with behavior challenges • Experience and willingness to work with children with extra support needs • Must be confident in working with children ages 4-10 Please e-mail your resume and cover letter to: [email protected] No phone calls will be accepted.
