Le Village is a child-centric co-working space for parents. We are a start-up business opening in late September/early October in Irving Park, Chicago. We are currently seeking lead teachers, or “Profs” as we like to call them, for our Wigglers (~3-18 mos), Explorers (~18 mos-3 years), and Learners (~3-4 years). We offer our teachers great pay, a supportive work environment, and a carefully designed curriculum, as well as a leadership team that values communication and is invested in your career! The Position: We’re looking for lead teachers known as Profs. The pay range we’re offering is $30K-$35K annual salary depending on current experience levels. We are hiring 1 lead teacher per class (Profs) who will have 1-2 classroom assistants (Mentors) depending on enrollment. Our experienced Program Administrator (PA) will be in charge of handling lesson planning, organizing materials lists and classroom activities, and hosting weekly staff meetings with Profs and Mentors. Our Profs will be asked to work with the PA to establish learning patterns and ensure they are able to facilitate a successful classroom environment. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with 1-3 years experience in the level you are applying for or Associate’s Degree in a related field with at least 5 years experience in the level you are applying for. Current CPR First-Aid Certification or willingness to become certified. Record of up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a background check. Excellent attitude and proactive approach to work. Ability to work Monday-Friday 8a-4p, attend a weekly 45-60 minute staff meeting, and join a weekly 30-45 minute 1-on-1 call with the Program Administrator. Responsibilities: Lead pre-planned activities and supervise children during Open Play times. Respond to children’s daily needs with flexibility, patience, and nurturing. Communicate with parents regarding any accidents or incidents with their child in the classroom.
