Now hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic lead teacher to join our collaborative teaching team! ABOUT THE POSITION The Lead Teacher works with a group of 12 children and a team of 3 teachers. The team works together to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child. The lead teacher heads the planning and guides the implementation of an emergent, project-based curriculum. Lead Teacher shift is 8:00am-3:00pm M-F. (Our program runs 8:30am-2:00pm from September to June, closed for most school holidays. We are closed in July and August.) Salary is $20 - $25/hour depending on education and experience ABOUT OUR PROGRAM Paloma's Nest strives to create a nurturing and respectful "home away from home" that serves as a gentle transition from home to the school environment. Authentic, trusting, and respectful relationships with children and families are at the heart of our work. The gentle rhythms of home life and nature provide the basis of our curriculum which we further enrich with intentional opportunities for exploration and discovery. Our goal is to work in partnership with parents and the children themselves to nurture a "compassionate sense of wonder" in each child. We are a part day program offering a play-based, Reggio-inspired curriculum to children 18 months to 4 years. Our location is amazing! We are in easy walking distance of the Presidio, Chrissy Field Beach, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Chestnut Street. Even your lunch break will be inspiring! REQUIREMENTS * Minimum of 18 ECE units, BA or MA in Child Development or Early Education preferred * 3 years prior experience working in Early Childhood Education * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Commitment to lifelong learning • Extensive knowledge of and experience with one or more of the following: Reggio Emilia approach, RIE principles, LifeWays principles, team teaching, emergent curriculum. * Candidates with unique interests and skills like gardening, music, singing, art, handwork, art, storytelling, etc. highly encouraged Job Type: Full-time Salary: $22.00 /hour Job Location: San Francisco, CA Required education: minimum 24 ECE units (may substitute qualifying experience) ECE teaching: minimum 3 years, 1 year as lead teacher
