Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

The Heartland Agency, Imagine Early Learning and Child Care currently operates a daycare centre in Northeast Calgary. As our program continues to expand, we are looking for compassionate and creative Early Childhood Educator to join our team, starting as soon as possible. Wage listed as $17-19/hour before Wage Top Up. Responsibilities: Work collaboratively within a team environment Provide behavioural guidance and utilize developmentally appropriate practices, particularly regarding positive discipline and behaviour support Plan and facilitate activities that stimulate children’s natural curiosity and support their individual skills and abilities Provide a welcoming and supportive environment to children and families Follow and integrate the core concepts of the Play, Participation and Possibilities Curriculum Framework Work within Licensing and Accreditation regulations, Health and Safety practices and protocols, program goals and Agency philosophy Observe, assess and document program activities as well as children’s individual development and progress Assist with classroom maintenance, material preparation, set up and clean up Assist the children with self-help skills where needed, including toileting and diapering Be energetic, motivated, caring and supportive Qualifications and Requirements: Alberta Child Care Certification 1 to 3 years experience working with children ages 19 months to 5 years with a variety of abilities & skills. 2-3 years of related experience working with children with challenging behaviours, Special Needs or ASD; a combination of education/demonstrated experience will be considered Current First Aid certification is required. Current criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check) is required Knowledge of the Play, Participation and Possibilities Curriculum Framework is an asset Awareness of Trauma-Informed Care practices is an asset Experience with children with diverse needs is an asset Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an updated resume and cover letter via email.
