Role Overview:
As a Toddler Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the early experiences of children aged 22 months to 3 years. You'll create an environment that ignites curiosity, celebrates diversity, and honors each child's unique voice and perspective. Through hands-on experiences, outdoor adventures, and collaborative projects, you'll empower toddlers to become confident, compassionate, and curious learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate a warm and inviting classroom atmosphere where toddlers feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore.
Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and emergent projects that reflect children's interests, passions, and inquiries.
Foster positive relationships with families, providing regular communication, support, and insight into children's daily experiences and growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to create an integrated and holistic learning environment that values creativity, inquiry, and community.
Guiding toddlers through education/development programs that you create.
Thinking on your feet and responding to each child’s needs efficiently.
Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
Building secure relationships with the children.
Working closely with the director to ensure that state guidelines are adhered to.
Keeping a diary of the day’s events for parent perusal.
Reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to the director and parents.
Providing close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.
Changing diapers as needed.
Collaborating with and supervising the assistant teachers in the classroom.
Qualifications:
Passion for early childhood education and a play based environment.
Experience working with toddlers in a childcare or educational setting, with a focus on emergent curriculum and child-led inquiry.
Knowledge of child development theories and practices, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning and positive behavior guidance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and community partners.
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development (recommended).
Complete background check and health examination.
Completion of the Early Childhood courses as designed by the state Child Care authority.
Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations.
Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Extended periods of time sitting on the floor.
Reliable transportation to Dandelion NPS.
Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents.
