Lead Teacher The teacher must be at least 18 years of age and will be responsible for providing care for children ages 3 months through 12 years. The teacher will ensure that the center is compliant with all licensing requirements and represents the program in a positive and professional manner at all times. The teacher will perform all duties according to the Family childcare center written policies, procedures and curriculum. Job Responsibilities ➢ Provides a nurturing and respectful environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. ➢ Assures that all children receive proper personal care and attention to their toileting/diapering, clothing and health needs. ➢ Assists children in all areas of learning through age appropriate activities and lesson plans. ➢ Develops weekly lesson plans and activities based on the individual needs of the children in their care. ➢ Maintains a warm, nurturing learning environment that encourages, exploration, curiosity and problem solving. ➢ Proactively identifies and helps resolve potential safety and health hazards. ➢ Reports immediately any suspected case of child abuse or neglect. ➢ Maintains a clean and sanitary environment by following state regulations and center policies. ➢ Assists in maintaining records, including but not limited to: daily attendance, daily sign-in/sign-out sheets, and medication/accident log. ➢ Reports to the Provider/Director ➢ Ensure the safety of all the children by contacting parents, guardian or emergency contact, when a child does not arrive within one hour of their scheduled time. Education ➢ Shall have satisfactorily completed 3 credits of broad-based early childhood training or must have completed Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher. If you will be working with children under the age of two, you must also complete Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care. Also, the completion of the infant and child CPR training including the use of an AED.
