Massey Centre (“the Centre”) is an award-winning, accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre that is a multi-service, non-profit, unionized, community agency located in the east end of Toronto. The Centre is committed to nurturing empowerment, independence and growth for young pregnant and parenting women, children and families in a non-judgmental, inclusive environment by providing a residential care and treatment program; supportive transitional housing; on-site high school program, community housing support and referral services; and maternal infant mental health programs and services. We do this by working collaboratively as a multi-disciplinary team with community partners to provide holistic programs and support that respond to mental health, education and transitional needs. The Centre also operates an EarlyON Child and Family Centre and an Early Learning Centre. All the programs and services are open to families, young women and their children living in the broader community. The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is responsible for providing stimulating programs for children and maintaining staff/child ratios in the Childcare Centre. Position: Early Childhood Educators Term: Permanent Full-time Rate of Pay: $45,909.0... per annum Department: Childcare Centre (Humewood Campus; Broadview Campus) Reports to: Child and Family Program Supervisor / Childcare Centre Supervisor Qualification: • A degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education • Must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing • Two years’ experience working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a group setting. • Previous experience working with adolescent parents and knowledge of the Early Learning Framework, an asset. • Knowledge of the Toronto Operating Criteria, an asset • Sound knowledge of the CCEYA, 2014 and other relevant legislation • Caring and compassionate • Strong communication skills • Current Standard First Aid certification including infant and child CPR Working Condition: • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling • Ability to move/carry equipment for the program • Must be physically able to lift/carry children in the program Closing Date: December 15, 2022... p.m. The Centre offers a dynamic work environment and career advancement opportunities.
