Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and train to be a Montessori Educator. You will enjoy working from the comfort of your home. This is a LIVE-IN setup. The successful candidate and her family will live at the provided house. •Develop, schedule, and coordinate Day Home activities, both physical and educational; •On a daily basis be prepared and organized, yet flexible & sensitive to the children’s needs in order to run a quality program in accordance with The Montessori Journey Inc. Core Curriculum and Values. •Institute and enforce Day Home rules and safety SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) •Ensure support staff and children’s welfare during all activities. •Ensure children’s welfare during all activities. •Ensure the proper handling of first aid and emergency situations •Ensure that a balance of indoor and outdoor activities take place daily throughout the year (weather permitting) •Attend professional development sessions, staff meetings, and first aid training as required by The Montessori Journey Inc. •Ensure all children in the program are diaper changed regularly or assisted in using the washroom facilities (age-dependent); inappropriate clothing; and attended to for naps, food, and activities (if necessary with the age group) •Prepare nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day as per The Montessori Journey daily menu planner, being sensitive to food preferences, allergy & age requirements. •Monitor and be accountable for the resource of food. Using it as required, being aware of portions, waste, and ordering. To replenish food orders must be sent to the Operations Manager by the said date. •Look presentable at all times and be courteous to other staff, children and parents. •Be prepared to present information and answer questions to the President, TMJ Management Team, or parents. •On a daily basis, complete all TMJ forms including but not excluded to child attendance forms, staff monthly SOPs •Liaise with parents as needed, regarding children’s progress and special needs •Plan enrichment activities as per the children in the program to aid in their learning. •Prepare and write monthly newsletters for parents to be sent out BY the 1st of each month.
