Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association is a vibrant, inclusive community centre offering community-based programming, childcare, sports and recreation facilities, and private hall rentals for business functions and special events. The Assistant Manager will be working directly in HSCA’s childcare programs, including Daycare and Out of School Care (OOSC). They will provide administrative support for the Program Managers for the Daycare and OOSC. In the event that either Program Manager is absent, the Assistant Manager will take the role of Acting Program Supervisor, to ensure supervision and safety practices are being followed by staff and that general well-being of the program and the staff is being maintained. Duties & Responsibilities: • Reporting o Monthly reporting requirements (including grants and accreditation) o Complete childcare license renewal paperwork o Follow documentation and reporting practices to ensure the health and safety of children and staff, as per our policies • Financial Administration o Manage accounts payable o Record deposits and charges to family accounts • Program Administration o Assist with the registration and orientation of new children and parents o Answer emails and phone daily o Manage waitlist inquiries o Order program supplies o Edit monthly parent newsletter • Relationships and Engagement o Maintain positive and professional relationships with children, parents and staff, as per our policies o Event coordination • Ability to take on additional duties as needed, including on floor supervision of children
